Björk: From Scorpio to Sagittarius

Presents:

Here are the Lyrics you can Follow them while playing the song:

ALARM CALL

Wo-oo-ooh hoh!

I have walked this earth
And watched people

It doesn't scare me at all

I can be sincere
And say I like them

It doesn't scare me at all

An-bithelafter-mer
An-yeah-hoh-oh
An-be-ja-a-a-ha-ha

You can't say no to hope
Can't say no to happiness

I want to go on a mountain-top
With a radio and good batteries
And play a joyous tune and
Free the human race
From suffering

It doesn't scare me at all

I'm no fucking buddhist
But this is enlightenment

The less room you give me
The more space I've got

It doesn't scare me at all

An-chamel-after
An-yeah-hoh-oh
An-be-ja-a-a-ha-ha

You can't say no to hope
Can't say no to happiness

It doesn't scare me at all

I want to be on a mountain-top
With a radio and good batteries
And play a joyous tune and
Free the
A-human race
From suffering

It doesn't scare me at all

This is an alarm-call
So wake-up, wake-up now
Woo-oo-ooh!
Today has never happened
And it doesn't frighten me

It doesn't scare me at all

An-bithel-after
An-yeah-hoh-oh
An-che-ja-a-a-ha-ha

You can't say no to hope
You can't say no to happiness
Wo-oo-ooh!

It doesn't scare me at all, wo-oo-ooh! ....

So what do you think about this song? Isn't the idea of meeting the wildest animals in the middle of a swamp a Scorpio thing? Yeah... but pay attention... Björk's attitude towards these creatures is not of a frightened person nor defensive. She is embracing the fact that she has to get along with them, because they are part of life as well. These wild creatures represent those parts of our psyche that we prefer to keep hidden in the darkest corner of our unconscious mind. Yes, those things that we think they belong to hell.

But Björk seems to be happy with them and accepting them as they are. She has stopping to see the world as black and white, and creatures as angels and demons. In this song, they are all the same. There is nothing to be afraid of. There is no need to compete. There is no need of a war. And she says she has been enlightened.

This song illustrates perfectly the path of the consciousness through the sign of Scorpio. Seeing things from the perspective of Scorpio can be very intense during the early states of mind, since we see the presence of others as a threat. People are not seen as kind and beautiful as they were in the previous sign of Libra. In Scorpio, we discover that life is a jungle where anyone is trying to survive. So we better have our weapons ready for those who could try to steal the things that we find valuable. But we are also attracted by the glow of the things that others have... so we are tempted to use our weapons to attack and steal. From the Scorpio perspective we are either hunters or hunted.

But once we stop seeing our surroundings as a threat, there is no need of a war. And this is what is the song about... and the enlightenment is just the next entrance to the next sign in the zodiac: Sagittarius. The next stage, which is based on freedom, optimism and, especially faith in life. At this point the intensity experienced during the stage of Scorpio has make the consciousness to evolve to a wider state of mind.

But we shouldn't see Scorpio as a bad thing. Because it is actually full of vitality. Suffering is important because, it activates the deepest chemistry of our soul so the transformation and the evolution can happen. And only after that, we can emerge enlightened with deep knowledge harvested from our own experience.

Note: It is amazing that Björk's birthday is 21 November 1965. She was born right at the moment when the Sun (The consciousness) was shifting from Scorpio to Sagittarius. That is exactly what is happening in the video :)
